“Before I got in here, I was rippin’ and runnin’. Just in the streets, doing me, trying to make a buck.”

Ferrice Spiceson, Rashaad Washington, and Dayquan Rollins grew up in West Garfield Park and became involved in street life and gang activities. Their lives took a transformative turn when they joined the MAAFA Redemption Project, a year-long program that helps individuals like them leave behind violence. Through therapy, meditation, education, and job training, MAAFA has enabled them to escape the cycle of crime and build new, positive futures, guiding them toward legitimate employment and a peaceful life.
